Reston-based EdTech leader recognized as a top employer for second consecutive year

RESTON, VA., September 22, 2020 -- Blackboard Inc. announced today that it was named a Top 15 Washington D.C. Employer Brand according to local tech talent in Hired’s 4th annual Brand Health Report. For the second consecutive year, Hired’s marketplace of Washington, D.C.-based tech talent selected Blackboard when asked to rank the most appealing companies to work for in the local area.

“We are proud to once again be recognized by local tech talent in the D.C.-area as a top place to work,” said Denise Haselhorst, Chief People Officer at Blackboard. “Our incredibly talented team works hard each day to push the boundaries of learning through the power of technology and deliver on our mission to advance learning. As a Reston headquartered business we are honored to be named amongst this strong group of local companies.”

Hired’s mission is to get everyone a job they love at a company they’re excited to work for, and with more than 10,000 employers and three million job seekers on the platform, the company has unprecedented visibility into what matters most to tech talent. The purpose of its Brand Health Report is to give companies and their recruiting teams the candidate insights they need to build a positive employer brand where people want to work. To do that, Hired surveyed more than 4,100 job seekers in tech to provide a comprehensive look at what they want in their next career opportunity, the industry leaders and local employers that catch their eyes, and the factors that influence their decision to take a new role.

“At Hired, we’ve always believed the most successful companies are the ones that understand how closely their business outcomes are tied to the people they hire,” says Mehul Patel, Hired CEO. “This still rings true today, and it’s particularly important for companies to develop a strong employer brand that sets them apart from local competition. Blackboard’s placement on this list proves how well it understands the unique preferences of tech workers in Washington D.C., and that it has truly done its part in living up to its ‘city champion’ role.”
